Group Genie is a creativity team and action network located in the
United States, and headquartered in Pittsburgh. We come up with
new ideas and methods to improve people's lives and the world.
We feel great urgency and compassion regarding humanity's
problems. We say, "Act as if your child's life was on the line,
and not someone else's – your Molly, your Jason, your
Kizito, your Prajhi, your Ling. Act as if you can see their
faces." – We try to do our level best.
The first meaning of the motto is that like magic genies, we’re sometimes able to produce new and powerful ideas, methods and inventions – almost out of thin air! The second meaning is that individuals are mighty when "we" all join our little efforts together. At Group Genie we're fond of saying, "Raindrops make rivers, and rivers move mountains!" – To some people that may seem merely an inspirational slogan, but to us it's a statement about how reality works: Raindrops really do make rivers. And rivers really do move mountain-sized amounts of dirt.
